Motor State Expansion and Shipping Announcement

Dear Valued Customers:

A significant investment in the future of Motor State is taking place at this very moment.  The Motor State team has been actively working on a major expansion project for over two years. Construction broke ground in June of 2015 on a 260,000 square foot distribution facility connected to our existing warehouse and is expected to be completed and fully operational by 2017. After 17 years of operation within the same space, this much needed addition will position Motor State to better serve you in the coming months and for years to come.

New Warehouse Expansion ProjectIn preparation for the new facility, significant technology upgrades are taking place. These upgrades will allow us to more efficiently pull, pack, and ship your orders. Even with testing and planning of these system upgrades, we expected to experience some issues, and we have. Those, combined with our slightly higher than normal seasonal volume, are currently causing some shipping delays. We apologize for this inconvenience and want to assure you that our team is working around-the-clock to resolve them as quickly as possible.

VERY IMPORTANT SHIPPING IMPROVEMENTS TAKING PLACE

FedEx/UPS: Motor State has been negotiating with both FedEx and UPS to maintain our shipping rates, improve transit times, and have later pickup times for domestic small parcel shipments.  FedEx brought us an overall package that will allow us to better service our customers.

Our Switch to FedEx as our domestic carrier of choice will provide:

  • Later pick-up times; this will allow us to process more packages in a day. It will also assist as we work through the challenges of our warehouse transition.
  • Expanded 1 and 2 day ground shipping territory which will benefit many customers by shipments arriving 1 day earlier.

Motor State has currently scheduled a phased implementation of the FedEx program to commence beginning the week of April 18th.  Customers may continue to use UPS, upon request, but rates and transit times will likely be greater than FedEx.

Moving forward - as incremental improvements continue to be implemented, we resolve to work diligently through any issues that may develop. We expect to see some shipping delays but we’ll do our best during this transition to restore the exceptional service you have counted on and received from Motor State Distributing. Our continued goal is to ship all FedEx, UPS, and USPS orders the same day they are received, prior to cut-off times, with the high level of customer service you have come to expect from Motor State.

We appreciate your business and we are working hard to keep it.
Sincerely,
The Motor State Distributing Team
