Supply Chain Business Analyst

Summary: The Supply Chain Business Analyst reports to the Supply Chain Initiatives Coordinator, and must be willing to work closely with all departments to enrich the customer experience. This includes Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Management, Distribution, and Accounting. This person must be positive and always ready to tackle an unexpected challenge to improve the customer experience daily. This person must show the utmost respect of Lane suppliers/partners as well as team members - we recognize these resources to be essential to the existence of our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze network and warehouse operations, including performance and productivity data, error rates and their root causes
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses on specific areas of the operation
  • Develop recommendations to improve performance
  • Project manage process improvement projects
  • Monitor results of warehouse operation improvement initiatives
  • Maintain databases and help develop weekly / monthly metrics/reports
  • Support the monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, particularly the Sales & Operations model and making recommendations for logistics and distribution strategy
  • Present results, conclusions and recommendations to management and senior leadership
  • Additional projects/duties as assigned.


Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering or equivalent Experience. 3-5 years of broad supply chain experience. Experience in a high-volume distribution/manufacturing environment preferred.


Certificates, License, Registration:
Six Sigma/Lean Training certification preferred (e.g. Six Sigma black belt)


Other Skill and Abilities:

  • Must have strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with complex financial systems (ex: Integrated ERP’s, WMS, data warehousing, reporting and analysis systems)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems


Physical Requirements:
The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands, stand, twist, bend, walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
